Our body has its own warning mechanism through which it tells us that something’s not right with it. The most common of such signs include fever and body pain. But there are other subtle signals that tend to go unnoticed until it gets too late.
And while most of these nail changes are the result of injury or trauma, sometimes they can also reveal hidden serious medical conditions such as heart disease and cancer.
We have a list of checks you should do in order to find out if there’s anything to be worried about it or not.
1. Nails Facing Upwards
If your nails are facing upwards, it could be signalling a lack of oxygen in the body. It could also signal a heart or lung disease or worst, amnesia.
2. Weak And Brittle Nails
If your nails are easily bent or split, they could be a result of advanced aging, harsh chemical treatments, or a Vitamin A deficiency.
3. Yellow Nails
Nails with a subtle yellow tinge can be a result of ageing or using acrylic nails and nail polish. Smoking can also cause the nails to turn yellow over a period of time.
